About

Hello. I’m Nishka.

Welcome to my site. I have been freelancing as a writer since 2008 and I created this website to provide business owners, coaches and consultants with the most critical tool to succeed- the right words.

Writerally (I couldn’t resist!), words have become the new shoes.

Remember a time when it was said:

“You can tell a gentleman by his shoes”

Well, in this high-content driven time you can tell a person or a business by the words they use.

That’s where I come in…

About

Hello.

Who Am I?

This riddle is easy to crack…

I am a writer…a ghostwriter and a business writer, based out of Mumbai, India.

I have been writing since 2008…and much before that I did an MBA in finance and marketing. I even worked in a bank for a few years, till one day, I finally heard the wail in my head as I walked through the glass doors of the bank and said No More!

What should I do next?

As a kid I read everything I could- from books to encyclopedias to regional magazines and newspapers any thing that came into the house- I read…

Because at that time, books- storybooks to be exact, were rarely bought for children and certainly never at the rate I read. So, I often raided my parents and grandparents’ collections, and those of their friends.

I was getting an education. I just didn’t know it…

The Write Path

Maybe, if I had known of the blurred vision and burn-outs writing causes I might have never walked the path. But then again, I’m a little obstinate…

Of course, in my ignorance I imagined that the way would be easy and it would glow in a soft golden light…

But the road to writing is not easy.

Over the years I learnt:

  • Writing is much more than just joining words and penning books
  • Writing demands discipline
  • Writing celebrates routine
  • Writing is a practice

What I loved though, was the fact that I could communicate well with the written word.

I, who was usually berated by my friends in office to speak up, spoke loudly when I wrote.

Another AHA moment came when I found that I could easily make boring business and financial ideas sound interesting to people who find it hard to decipher debit from credit and…
this became my clarion call to start writing for businesses!

I studied copywriting from AWAI and created persuasive long copies (the advertising name for 20-page-long advertorials)

As I wrote away, I discovered that non-fiction books are case studies in a novel format (especially the non-fiction ones). Soon, I started ghostwriting books for business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Books are powerful tools in personal brand building.

Some of my authors have gone on to start successful consulting businesses based on the power of the books I have written… because a book empowers the writer with authority in his or her niche.

My Writing Process

Officially, I create business content and ghostwrite books, but actually there are loads of ways I can work with you to make sure that your content connects to your audience.

In fact, I have also written animation scripts, stories for children, written for magazines, tried fire eating (Hah just checking if you were truly reading!).

Writing has so many aspects, that as a true traveler- I want to try it all!

Often when I meet my authors, they ask, “how do you write?”

The eternal picture of scruffy writers in pajamas inevitably crops up, but though I’m not corporate material, I have a strange love for routine and timelines that expresses itself in my writing set-up. Sigh!

I work from a co-working space and jealously guard my time with my laptop.

Writing has taught me many things, most of all that everyone has a story waiting to be told.

What’s YOUR story?
